Cortland Circuit (“The Cortland Hurl”)

1.6KM
↑ 0000-0250m

This 1.6 km circuit is in Bernal Heights, San Francisco. It starts at Holly Park, follows the oval road around the park, then descends Appleton Ave to Mission Street, turns right, and then it’s right again onto Cortland Street, the “Cortland Hurl” infamous among bike commuters who ride from the Mission to jobs south in Silicon Valley. At the top of the Hurl there’s a brief recovery, then a right on Bocana adds a bit more of climbing to return to Holly Park and the S/F banner.

This was a lot of fun racing against bots: all turns were smooth, no surprises on the gradient, and the park loop went round and round w/o any kinks. Not 5 stars because it lacks any connection to a real-world event.
